In our continued effort to provide men with unbiased, scientifically accurate information about prostate cancer treatment options, PCRI has launched an educational program – a comprehensive training and mentoring course – to equip support group leaders across the country with the knowledge needed in a variety of topics to be effective and supportive leaders.
The online course consists of a series of webinars by well-known medical professionals who are highly regarded in their respective fields of prostate cancer research. The course covers a wide range of topics, including (but not limited to) active surveillance, screening and prevention, imaging, men’s health and a detailed overview of the five “shades” of prostate cancer. It is set up in the format of a regular online class, with required reading, lectures, homework and 2-3 exams. The pilot program for the PCRI mentoring class is currently underway, and will last until August 2012. For more information, please email madhu@pcri.org.
